I am delighted to hear that West Midlands Police is receiving an extra £3.37m for Violence Reduction Units to tackle violent crime in Bloxwich, Willenhall and Walsall North.
Violence Reduction Units fund vital local projects and bring organisations across Walsall North together to prevent young people from being drawn into crime.
This funding is in addition to the extra £39.5m announced for West Midlands Police this year. The money forms part of the Government’s wider drive to make communities safer, which includes bringing in 20,000 additional police officers nationally over the next 3 years, 6,620 of which have already been recruited.
