This year is the 70th birthday of the NHS and the government are taking action to secure our National Health Service for generations to come. As we leave the European Union and stop paying significant annual subscriptions to Brussels, we will have more money to spend on priorities like the NHS.
I’m delighted that the NHS will receive an extra £600 million a week in cash terms from the Government, delivering another of my manifesto commitments. That’s an extra 3.4 per cent over the next 5 years and £384 million a week in real terms. This will help fund a huge increase in doctors & nurses, mental health services & cancer treatment benefiting everyone in Walsall North, Bloxwich and Willenhall.
