Eddie's Acorns Appeal

ACORNS APPEAL: Acorns Hospice has been given a lifeline that will keep the Walsall hospice open until at least the end of March 2020. This will give Acorns time to try to raise the final £2million needed to guarantee the long-term future of the hospice.

Network Rail Footbridge in Bloxwich

I know a lot of residents in Bloxwich and Dudley Fields are angry about how long it’s taken to build the footbridge at the former level crossing. I met with Network Rail to express how disappointed residents are after months and months of delays due to unforeseen circumstances.

Scrap the TV Licence

I'm disappointed that the BBC have opted to cancel the free TV licence for many people over the age of 75.

Acorns Children's Hospice

When I visited Acorns Children’s Hospice in Walsall I was determined to do all I can to help keep it open. Working with other Black Country MPs, I met with Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, in Parliament to discuss the potential closure.

Tacking Lonliness and Isolation

Our elderly residents don't deserve to feel lonely. That's why I'm organising events across Bloxwich, Willenhall and Walsall North for older people. It was a real pleasure to get together at Keelson Pointe in Leamore for a coffee morning and a chat along with local councilor Gaz Ali.

Bloxwich North Car Park

It's great news that work on the car park at Bloxwich North train station has been completed. Matt Follows and local Bloxwich West Councillors launched a petition with residents of Mossley estate to get the work done.

Willenhall E-ACT Academy

I recently got to visit Willenhall E-ACT Academy. I met with staff, students and the headteacher Jenn Willmitt to discuss what they’ve been doing to improve the school. I then got the opportunity in the House of Commons to congratulate Jenn and her team at the school on their fantastic progress.

A big highlight for me over the last few weeks was the Vaisakhi Parade. I was privileged to join an amazing turnout of local people along with Willenhall activist, Amandeep Garcha, and hundreds of constituents to walk from Wednesfield to Willenhall.
