The Sunday Times covered my parliamentary question to the Department of Health about sepsis in newborn babies. The figures I received were quite shocking. Last year, 9,274 babies less than a month old were admitted to hospital with the potentially fatal condition.

Eddie met with Andrew Jones MP, Exchequer Minister at HM Treasury, to put forward the case to open the train station in Willenhall. Both Eddie and West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street, want to see the train station reopened.
Eddie asked the Department for Transport: What assessment his Department has made of air quality on the M6 between junctions 9 and 10a; and what steps his Department is taking to mitigate the effect of traffic on air quality on that section of that road?
Eddie Hughes MP has welcomed the news that the Government are going to increase penalties for littering. Maximum litter fines are to almost double to £150 from April next year as well as new fines introduced for owners of vehicles from which litter is thrown.
Commenting on the Government's transport investment announcement for Bloxwich and Walsall, Chris Grayling MP, Secretary of State for Transport said, “I am delighted we are able to bring forward improvements to Junction 10 of the M6 in the West Midlands by several months.
