Boris announces Project Speed

Boris has been back in the Black Country today to deliver an important speech as Britain prepares, cautiously, to come out of hibernation.

What does Project Speed mean for Bloxwich, Willenhall and Walsall North?

Coronavirus is the biggest challenge that this country has faced in a generation, but also presents a great opportunity for us make radical changes and solve problems highlighted by the crisis.

The Prime Minister set out a vision to level up Britain. This means unleashing our potential in the West Midlands by investing in things like road and rail infrastructure and the skills of our work force.

We will be building more homes so young people can get on the housing ladder - with the most radical reforms to planning since WW2.

It also means the biggest ever investment in the NHS, fixing the long-standing problems of social care, and looking after those who have looked after us.

The virus hasn’t gone away and there will be challenges to come - but we have the opportunity to be ambitious, work together and change Britain for the better.
