Inspired by Jo Cox, the MP who was killed on 16 June 2016, The Great Get Together is about bringing communities together and celebrating all that unites us. This year, The Great Get Together took place on 22nd – 24th June 2018, which would have been Jo’s 44th birthday.
Part of Jo's legacy has been the importance of tackling loneliness and social isolation. It was fantastic to get the chance to have a cuppa and chat with people of all backgrounds and hear the stories they had to tell, many of whom were not aware of the community and opportunities available to them just a short walk from home. Thanks to the staff at the Stan Ball Centre and Willenhall Chart Centre for helping out at the two coffee mornings in Walsall North.
