After the north bridge beams were successfully installed last month, M6 Junction 10 will be closed between the exit and entry slip roads from 8pm this Friday (24th) to 6am Monday (27th) to fit the south bridge beams. The construction of two new, four-lane bridges will increase capacity and ease congestion when completed.
From Monday 27 September 2021, the M6 between the exit and entry slip roads will be closed between 8pm and 6am every weeknight until October 20th to install the bridge deck panels over the beams.
During the closures, an ‘up and over’ diversion will be in place. Traffic will leave the motorway at junction 10, travel over the roundabout and then re-join the M6 on the other side of the junction. Road users should expect long delays and should avoid the area if possible. If you’re planning to use the M6 to head north to south or south to north, please consider using alternative routes like the M1.
