I had a fantastic start to my day at Fibbersley Nature Reserve, a beautiful green space sat in the heart of Willenhall. With a beautiful nature trail, Fibbersley Local Nature Reserve is home to a variety of wildlife including parakeets, robins, badgers and bullfinch ā it truly is a hidden gem
Gary and Debbie from the Friends of Fibbersley Nature Reserve joined me with the Walsall Healthy Spaces. The friends group take a lot of pride in looking after nature reserve from litter picking, planting wildflowers and building bat boxes and bird boxes. The team have focused on preserving and expanding on our local heritage for generations to come
So it was fantastic to see the Fibbersley Local Nature Reserve receive a grant of Ā£75,000 to improve the site. From clearing of vegetation, upgraded paths and ponds, the entrance will be rejuvenated with the introduction of two new disability-friendly entrance gates for better accessibility
Iām already looking forward to returning to see the fantastic progress made!
