In the early hours of this morning, we passed the Safety of Rwanda Bill after months of delay from Labour and their members in the House of Lords.
We can now get flights off the ground to Rwanda, breaking the business model of criminal gangs and providing an innovative solution to the global migration crisis. Labour did everything they could to block measures to stop the boats and would scrap our Rwanda plan.
The passing of the Safety of Rwanda Bill will also prevent people abusing the law by using false human rights claims to block removals and makes clear that the UK Parliament is sovereign, giving government the power to reject interim blocking measures imposed by European courts.
