Last night in Parliament, I was proud to vote to stop the small boats.
It’s unfair to those who have a genuine case for Asylum when our system is clogged by those arriving here illegally from safe countries – and it’s unfair to the British people who end up footing the bill.
The Government is delivering a tough but fair approach to illegal immigration. Anyone arriving here illegally will be detained and removed to a safe country within weeks without being allowed to delay their removal or make any claims.
Labour voted against stopping illegal immigration, ultimately voting against the British public. It appears to me they seem to vote for anything other than prioritising the British people.
