I wrote to Sir David Carter - the National Schools Commissioner in charge of academy standards - late last month regarding the inadequate Ofsted report at Willenhall E-ACT Academy. I have since discussed the issue with Sir David, who has replied to my letter below and intervened as per my request. The exchange of letters is below.
Commenting on the letter from Sir David Carter, Eddie Hughes MP said, “I am pleased that the National Schools Commissioner has responded to my letter by personally intervening in the ongoing issues at Willenhall E-ACT Academy. This is certainly very welcome.”
“I am also pleased that all options remain on the table to ensure that progress is made in turning the school around. I agree that change will not happen overnight, but change must be delivered. I look forward to supporting the new Head Teacher as she works towards delivering the best education for local pupils.”
“I will continue to hold the people responsible for school standards to account on behalf of the people of Willenhall and look forward to seeing our children getting the best education possible in due course.”
